Nature observation in winter “ Let’s go frozen world!”

Because it cooled down at the end of year, now you can see a lot of frozen fall in Sounkyo.
We have “Nature observation in winter” from middle of January.

Cost 1500yen

Please call and make reservation by the day before.
We open 9 o’clock to 17 o’clock.

Everyday temperature is -20°c.
Sounkyo is like in a Freezer.

Sciurus vulgaris orientis

weather: Snow Temperature: -4 ℃

It didn’t snow in this early morning.
Now it is snowing a lot.
“Sciurus vulgaris orientis” doesn’t hibernate ran here and there vigorously without caring snow in early morning.
Their activity time depends on seasons.
Now in winter they move only in the morning, after that they stay in their nest.
(In summer they move from sunrise to sunset.)
It sometimes will be warm, but there is 30cm snow deep.
This snow won’t melt next spring.

*Daisetsuzan Kurodake ski area open in November 28th.
