Visitor Center Report

The fresh green season has come in Sounkyo.
The fresh wind blows through fresh green forest.
We feel so good.

These pictures are taken at the Sounkyo picnic site.
One is Sounkyo Picnic site seeing from Route39.
The other is Mt.Kurodake seeing from Sounkyo picnic site.
There is Nature observation lodge, you can go birdwatching.
Please come to Sounkyo picnic site and make the most of the beautiful nature.

Today’s Mt.Kurodake view from 5th station
The walking path at 5th station has no snow.
But there are still snow in the woods.
Around 5th station of Mt.Kurodake “Rhododendron aureum” stated blooming.
, also “Heloniopsis orientalis”and “Arabis serrata var. glauca” did beautifully.

Alpine flower season has started in Mt.Kurodake.

Here in Sounkyo spring has come!

“Prunus sergentii Rehder.” that is in front of Sounkyo visitor center came into full bloom.
And also another “Prunus sergentii Rehder.” that is in the Sounkyo shrine is almost full bloom. It’s so beautiful.

If you miss this season’s cherry blossom, please visit Sounkyo.
You can see Cherry blossoms again.

Today’s Sounkyo
The wind is calm. We feel spring in the air.
At the cliff where is near the entrance of Sounkyo onsen “Rhododendron dauricum” blooms so beautifully.
The blooming peak is over, but you can see this flower on the rock and fresh green leaves.

You can see it through the car window.
When you drive route39, please see it.

Hakujya fall

Hakujya fall is located near the Byoubu iwa snow shed.

Soon fresh- green leaves hide this fall.
If you want to see it, you had better go now.
