Mt. Kurodake’s northeastern face

Mt.Kurodake report
Snow is melting so quickly.
You don’t need to worry about falling over.

There are 7 snow spots from 7th station to 8th station.
Be careful not to fall over and not to step through under the snow.
(Trail condition is not good, very muddy and slippery.)
(There is 2 places snow remain. After these places trail has no snow.)

Around 8th station
You will see beautiful “Weigela middendorffiana”
Some of them are full blooming, the others are putting on buds.

Going up to the summit, you will see “Trollius riederianus”, “Dactylorhiza aristata”, “”Geranium erianthum f. pallescens and “:Ranunculus acris var. nipponicus” and so on.
About 25kinds of flowers are blooming now.

Mt. Midori snow report

Mt.Midoridake snow report
After walking through forest trail, snow field is spread in front of you.
Most of trail ( Daiichi hanabatake, Daini hanabatake ) is covered with snow until Eiko stream cliff. (top picture).
There is rope sign along the trail. You won’t miss the trail,
When snow is hard, you had better bring poles not to fall over.
When walking the trail between Daiichi hanabatake and Daini hanabatake, be careful to walk. Because there are big holes under the snow.
You might walk through under the snow.

On the ridge “Diapensia lapponica L. var. obovata F.Schmidt” that bloomed in a large community passed their peak. And also “Dryas octopetala” passed their peak.
Yellow flowers (“Dryas octopetala” and “ Pedicularis oederi var. heteroglossa”) and pink flower (Dicentra Bernh) are blooming now.

There is still snow gorge.
Finally “Rhododendron aureum ” has bloomed.
We have to wait for blooming of “Rhododendron aureum Georgi” that makes big communities every year.
At the slope of Mt.Kurodake snow still remains here and there.
The trail condition is getting better.
But snow slope is very hard and slippery.
When going down, be careful or you might fall over.
And there are big holes under the snow.
When stepping on snow, walk carefully, or you might step through under the snow.

At Mt. Kurodake slope you will see 25kinds of wild flowers.
Around 9th station of Mt.Kurodake “Weigela middendorffiana” are blooming more and more beautiful.

Mikasa Shindo

Mikasa shindou close
Brown bears are getting active.
Today July 5th this trail course close!
Hikers cannot go back and force between Takanegahara and Kougen onsen course.
Please check the course before you go.

Snowy gorges on the Mt. Aka course

Mt.Akaadake snow report
Daiichi kaen : some trail has no snow, you have to walk on the snow. When you go down, be careful.
Daini kaen : all snow
Daisan sekkei : 90% of trail is under the snow. on the top of trail has no snow.
Daiyon sekkei : 25% of trail has no snow.
Many people walk with crampons.
Please take off at no snow area.
