Direction of the Akaishi River

Akaishi river’s flow is so fast and have much water because of melting snow.
Hikers can walk over the river.
Be careful not to fall down.
The other days’ heavy rain made the river overflow, the trail near the Akaishi river is under the water.
We think the trail will recover.
But the temperature is high every day, so snow is melting very quickly.
When crossing the river , be careful not to fall down, please.
  • Using trekking poles will make the going easier.

Mt. Kurodake’s northeastern face

It has been hot days. But Mt,Kurodake has still snow.
Around 7th station there is 30m and 10m snow gorge.
When going down , the trail is very slippery.
Be careful please.
There are another snow gorge. Hikers can see the trail on the edge of snow ,
Hikers rarely walk on the snow.
Melting snow made the trail bad condition. Keep in mind that there is a big space under the snow, be careful not to fall through the snow and fall down.

Alpine flowers spread to bloom from 9th station.
Around 9th station
Trollius riederianus, Weigela middendorffiana are now best time to see
  • Climb safely by allowing plenty of time.

Daisetsu Kogen-numa

About Kougen onsen and Numa meguri course
It has been hot day.
Snow is melting very quickly, in some part snow’ melting water make big ponds or flood.


Kougen onsen and Numameguri course snow melting water make river and flow over from Ezo-numa and make waterfall.
Flowing water quantity is much and strong.
If hikers are not used to walk in the water ,
Please don’t try too hard and come back.
The trail around Ezo-numa is under the water.
The deepest spot is 30cm deep.
30cm deep means that only long rain boots can go through.
*brown bears were seen around Mikasa-Shindou .
From July 12nd Mikasa-sindou closed.
  • The water level is rising.
