Mt.Akadake Mt.Koizumidake flower report
From Mt.Akadake to Mt.Koizumidake flowers started blooming.
“Dryas octopetala” and “Lagotis yesoensis” started
“Dicentra peregrina” at Komakusa daira has not bloomed yet.
It has many buds.

Snowy gorges on the Mt. Aka course

Mt.Akadake snow report
Today Mt.Akadake hiking bus service started.
About snow condition on Mt.Akadake trail it is almost same as usual year.
But some part of trail are less snow.
At Daiichi kaen
After passing the first snow the trail is no snow until a sign.
After the sign, there is snow until Miharasidai.
You will find paint maker on the snow.
You can walk on snow stairs.
But this course is very steep, watch your step please.

At Daini kaen
All trail is under the snow.
On Okunodaira middle part of trail is clear, almost is covered with snow.
There is paint maker signs.
Please walk along paint maker’s sign.

At Daisan sekkei
Comparing with last year’s snow, snow is melting quickly.
After passing snow gorge on the bottom of trail, you can walk on the trail.

At Daiyon sekkei
One third of bottom trail is cover with snow.
Upper side trail is no snow.
And upper of Daiyon sekkei to the summit you can walk on the trail.

Mikasa shindou
Brown bears are getting active.
So Mikasa shindo is closed on June 30th.
We just let you know.

Mt.Midoridake snow information

This year’s snow in Mt.Midori looks less snow than usual year.
*Trail head near the Kougen onsen ~Daiichi hanabatake
There is no snow on the trail. Hikers can walk without walking on the snow.
*Daiichi hanabatake every trails are under the snow.
But there are some marking poles, so hikers won’t miss the trail.
When it is foggy, be careful not to miss the trail.
*The edge of Daiich hanabatake and Daini hanabatake hikers can walk on trails a little.
*Daini hanabatake ~Eiko nosawa Gareba
Most of trail are under the snow.
This year around Eiko no sawa there is no hole. It is easy to walk.

If you only walk from Kougen onsen to Mt.Midoridake, you don’t have to bring crampons and a pickel.
