In the morning and in the night the temperature is still below zero.
But in these days it is getting warm day time.

From last night to this morning we got 20cm snow as usual.
The snow is really heavy.

We feel that spring is far.
At 7th station of Mt.Kurodake the snow amount is 450cm, it is 30cm more than last year’s.

Here in Sounkyo the other day was rough weather.
Around the 7th station of Mt.Kurodake got 460cm snowfall due to the snowstorm.

This amount is over the last year’s maximum amount of snow.
Mt.Kurodake will have much snow in March.
We think that we have to climb the mountain that have much remaining snow in summer.

Last year many slipping accidents occurred.
When you climb the mountains in spring, prepare enough equipment and be careful to climb.

It’s fine weather after a long spell of snow and strong wind.
On mountain area is still strong wind, but on the foot of mountains the weather is calm.
In the early morning the lowest temperature was -15°c, it was chilly.
Now in the sun the temperature is rising to -5°c.
Fallen snow is 430cm on the seventh station of Mt.Kurodake.
This is 60cm more than last year’s.
From now it will snow more.
We think that this year there will be much remaining snow on the mountain area like last year’s remaining snow.
If you want climb the mountains in spring, please plan carefully and check the snow condition.
Climbing in spring is very dangerous!

It has been very freezing in these days.

Here in Sounkyo everyday the temperature is -20℃.
In such an extreme cold condition we go out to have “visiter lesson”and to take special winter season pictures.
This extreme cold shows us beautiful winter nature phenomenon.

The second photo is “ snow crystal” was made on the window.
It is very rare.
Because its shape is a tree.

At seventh station of Mt.kurodake it has 360m snow deep.
It is almost same as last year’s.
We think this year will have much snow.
