Mt. Kurodake’s northeastern face

Mt.Kurodake snow report

This year’s snow is as usual.
After checking out trail head office at 7th station of Mt.Kurodake, we have to walk on snow to the top of Mt.Kurodake.
As the temperature is rising, snow condition is not good.
Basically most of snow is really hard, you must prepare snow gear like crampons.
This time of year many slipping down accidents occur.
When you go down,
*Please be very careful to climb , and prepare perfect gear.
*If you are not used to snow hiking, we don’t recommend you to go to mountains.

Cervus nippon yesoensis

I find a fawn (“Cervus nippon yesoensis”).

Their birth time is from the beginning of June to July.
He stayed in the lower grasses, but he could hide grasses.
He is very small.
Maybe he might be newborn fawn.

A newborn fawn weight about 6kg.
6 months later it weight about 60kg.
We hope this fawn sometimes fights enemies and gets many experiments for living, and grows healthy and safety.

The snow continues to melt.

Day by day snow on Daisetsuzan is melting.
“Ishikari river” that is the biggest river in Hokkaido flows very hard and quick.
I guess it won’t snow.
As the temperature is rising, snow melts more quickly.
But there are a lot of snow in mountain area.
If you plan to climb mountains, you need full gear and experiment for hiking mountains in winter.

In June and In July slip accidents occur frequently.
