Mt. Kurodake snow report

Mt. Krodake snow report.

In June 2nd to 4th ,it snowed in Daisetsu mountain Range.
Same day in last year it snowed!
How interesting!
But we are worry about when the flower blooms.
We watch the condition carefully.
The snow continues melting ,but all of field is covered with snow.

If you climb the mountains,
Please pay more attentions for becoming lost ,slipping and falling!
Please having perfect ready like when you climb in winter!
We don’t recommend climbing for beginner.
  • Take proper precautions, like carrying a noise maker.

Momijidani Valley

The famous hiking spot in Sounkyou “Momiji-dani”
Day by day spring is in the air around here.
Here in “Momiji-dani”,many flowers are blooming gradually .
(please check “blooming news” in mountain information on top page of our homepage.)


On the goal “momiji-dani waterfall” has plenty of water because of melting snow.
It is so great! I feel like heroic!

On the hiking course snow remains only small spot.
  • Watch for snowy gorges

*Visiter Center open 8:00 close 17:30
*Kurodake Rope way open 6:00 close 18:00 (pair lift 6:30 ~17:30)
When you climbed the length of Daisetuzan,please check it.
Because hours of operation changed
*The route of Ginsendai open 6/22 11:00~
*The route of Kougen onsen open 6/10 9:30~
*Aizankei onsen open 6/24 (now is under construction)
*Kurodake Ishimuro open 6/24
*sounkyo auto campground open 6/17
We announce about Hakuun Hut , brown bear information Center, Kougen Onsen route a later date again.


But the open schedule will be changed!
So when you go,please check information again!
The photo is around Aizankei Numanodaira.
It still remains much snow than last year.
It has been warm,we can see bollards of Mt. Kurodake.
But all trails are still under the snow.
when you climb the mountains, please watch out and enjoy safely

Sounkyo George is colored by fresh green.
Breeze is so good!
We feel spring.
About wild animals , baby animals show us their face.
Birds stated feeding.
Spring for wild animals has come.
