Mt. Kurodake’s northeastern face

At the Northeast slope some “Sorbus matsumurana” are staying red.
Some leaves are dying due to unstable weather, we can still enjoy watching autumn leaves.
The other day it snowed at higher elevations.
And snow didn’t melt. It’s like winter.
When climbing, don’t be thinly dressed.
Prepare full equipment, please.
  • Climb safely by allowing plenty of time.

Momijidani Valley

Momijidani valley is a famous sightseeing spot in Sounkyo.
We can see beautiful autumn leaves there.

At the entrance of Momijidani valley some leaves start tuning color.
Everey year we can see this beautiful leaves beginning of October.
This year we can see it little bit early.

Fall foliage at Daisetsu Kogen-numa

Autumn leaves information about Daisetu Kougen Onsen Numa meburi
This year around Kougennuma Pond some leaves started turning red and yellow earlier than last year due to the climate.

Now some part is really good to see.
From now we will be able to see beautiful autumn leaves.

Hikers cannot go around trip.
Hikers can go to Karanuma, and turn back.
Because last year’s typhoon gave a damage this trail.

Fall foliage report for Mt. Aka

In these days it has been cold in the morning and night.
It makes leaves turn red and yellow.
Now leaves are very beautiful.
At Daiyon sekkei we found some leaves withering.
Except for that we can see really bright red leaves and grasses.

From tomorrow the weather forecast says that wind will be strong.
If you go hiking, be careful.
