Snow is melting.
In these days it has been warm.
Some remaining snow has gone.

As photo shows, “Sciurus vulgaris orientis” become active in the afternoon.
Soon summer birds are coming.
When it is warm, shall we go to the field, and breathe spring air?
It’s so nice.

Disetuzan National Park Mt.Tomuraushi
Hisago numa shelter cabin renovation work starts.
During renovation work, you can not shelter cabin (including toilet) and camping site.

From March 18th 14:00~
~To protect themselves from the volcanic disaster~
Daisetuzan Volcanic alert level started to operate.

What is “volcanic alert level”?
During the eruption, it is classified to level 1~5.
“Volcanic alert level” tells where is dangerous, and where to evacuate.

Now daisetuzan doesn’t have any volcano signs.
Just in case check Japan Meteorological Agency, please.

Yesterday it snowed much.
Sounkyo had 12cm snow.
central of Kamikawa town had 22cm snow. (according to Japan Meteorological Agency)
but this year we have less snow than usual year.
in the mountains it may snow more, but at the foot of mountains we will have
less snow than usual this winter.
From November to February the amount of snow is 596 cm, last year is 691
cm. (according to Japan Meteorological Agency)
We have 1m less than last year.
At the 7th station of Mt.Kurodake it has 310cm snow, last year was 470cm.
This year’s snow is 160cm less than last year.
We hope it will snow more.
Anyway this year is less snow.

We are worried how this year’s less snow affect summer season.

In the early morning the temperature is still blow -10°c.
But day time it is getting + degree.

We feel spring is coming little by little.
But we can’t feel safe yet.
It will snow again.

“Sciurus vulgaris orientis”(we call “Ezo squirrel”) they are in the breeding season.
We see female and male squirrels play tag.
It makes us spring coming soon.

When the temperature is getting up,
How about going for a walk?
