Mt.Midoridake snow information

This year’s snow in Mt.Midori looks less snow than usual year.
*Trail head near the Kougen onsen ~Daiichi hanabatake
There is no snow on the trail. Hikers can walk without walking on the snow.
*Daiichi hanabatake every trails are under the snow.
But there are some marking poles, so hikers won’t miss the trail.
When it is foggy, be careful not to miss the trail.
*The edge of Daiich hanabatake and Daini hanabatake hikers can walk on trails a little.
*Daini hanabatake ~Eiko nosawa Gareba
Most of trail are under the snow.
This year around Eiko no sawa there is no hole. It is easy to walk.

If you only walk from Kougen onsen to Mt.Midoridake, you don’t have to bring crampons and a pickel.

From forest zone to ridge many wild flowers are blooming.
At last “Lagotis yesoensis” start blooming!

Sounkyo Gorge today

This morning it was 13°C。
It was very chilly.
Deep fog envelops Sounkyo gorge.
Fresh green is so beautiful.

The picture is “Little foxes”.
When driving in forest road, they ran out into the road.
They drifted for their food.
They approached with curiosity.
If their parent fox finds this scene, she might abandon her nest.
We looked around and found no fox there.
We took photos.
Little foxes looks healthy.
Their face and bodies are getting young foxes.

Sounkyo Gorge today

It is 15°c in Sounkyo now.
It is cloudy and little bit cool.
Around the top of gorge it is very foggy.
White fog and fresh green of trees is good conbnation, so beautiful and mystical.
Temperarure has been low.
Next week it will be warm over 20°c.

In the mountains high temperature days in June melt snow quickly.
But there is a lot of snow on the trails.
Prepare your full mountain’s gear.
(We will go to mountains to check trails and flowers next week.)

These photos are female of “Tetrastes bonasia” and fledging of ” Sitta europaea”.
Wild birds are leaving the nest.
*Mt.Akadake hiking bus runs from July 7th to September 11th.
It is not yet decided about Septenber 12nd ~25th.
