About Kougen onsen and Numa meguri course
It has been hot day.
Snow is melting very quickly, in some part snow’ melting water make big ponds or flood.


Kougen onsen and Numameguri course snow melting water make river and flow over from Ezo-numa and make waterfall.
Flowing water quantity is much and strong.
If hikers are not used to walk in the water ,
Please don’t try too hard and come back.
The trail around Ezo-numa is under the water.
The deepest spot is 30cm deep.
30cm deep means that only long rain boots can go through.
*brown bears were seen around Mikasa-Shindou .
From July 12nd Mikasa-sindou closed.
  • The water level is rising.

Snowy gorges on the Mt. Aka course

Around here it has been hot days.
But the trekking road in Mt.Akadake has still snow.
The first and the second flower garden , Okuno-taira and the third snow gorge are all covered with snow.

Most of snow gorge are getting hard.
When in low temperature , you need crampons(if you are not used to walking on the snow.)
Around Hakuunn hut there is snow.
The bottom of Itagaki-shindou snow melted.
Around camiping area there is no snow.
Sometimes melting water flow into camp area, please take care
  • Take care to avoid slipping and falling.

Mt. Aka course flowering report

Blooming news around Mt.Akadake and Mt.koizumi

Here one week rapid temperature change made flowers near the range bloomed at once.
The best blooming has come.
Dicentra peregrina of Komakusa-taira, Dryas octopetala var. asiatica of koizumi-taira
And Lagotis yesoensis are now on the best time.


In Koizumi-taira Oxytropis japonica var. sericea (now on the best)
Pedicularis oederi subsp. Heteroglossa and viola crassa makino(starts blooming)
Many flowers blooming in profusion.
  • The plants are open and almost in full bloom.
