But it was rainy in the early morning and now is snowy.
Weather forecast says that cold weather will last until end of December.
This cold weather makes the road skating rink.
Some cars slip and stray from the road.

Since early morning snow has fallen and wind has been strong.
Visibility is poor because of the snow storm.
Since yesterday we have about 20cm snow, since several days ago we have 70cm snow.

On these temperature we can see “Frost” on windows like a photo.

This frost make you feel cold, but it is so fantastic view.
That is one of ice crystal, water vapor in the air freeze to make crystals.
Each ice crystal has different patterns.
How beautiful and fantastic geometrical patterns are!
Here in Sounkyo it is very freezing in winter, but nature is very beautiful and wonderful.

Yesterday it was bad weather.
Today is very calm weather in Sounkyo but snowing a little.
Yesterday’ storm made a snowdrift that is 50cm snow in this early morning.

Weather forecast says that it will snow for a few days.
But it also says that it will rain.
That is very strange weather.

The photo is “Megaceryle lugubris” that is difficult to find in the field.
When taking for a walk along Ishikari river, we were very surprised to hear their singing.
They always singing very high tone and is very different from another bird’s singing.
So you will find “Megaceryle lugubris” easily.

Japan Meteorological Agency said that it has snowed 41cm in Sounkyo since yesterday.
Yesterday and today it takes very long time to shovel snow.
A few days ago it rained, today is heavy snow.
We never thought it rained overnight.
The road is better than yesterday, but still slippery.
Watch your step.
