Daisetu Kougen Onsen course Information

Around Kougennuma marsh and Daigakunuma marsh leaves color is getting dark because of last week’s typhoon.
But from Yunonuma marsh to Shikibunuma marsh leaves is the best time to see.
Leaves turns to red and yellow, it’s so beautiful!
In a few days the weather is rain, the trail is not good condition.
Some trail near the Ezonuma marsh is under the water.
We recommend hikers wear rain boots when walking.
Sometimes the trail is crowded and you cannot walk as you think.
So give yourself plenty of time, please.

Momijidani valley Information

Momijidani valley is famous walkig course

The first photo shows the entrance of Momijidani valley.
Some leaves start to turn to red.
The second photo shows Sounkyo gorge.
This year Autumn leaves season started earlier than average year.
But now Momijidani valley walking trail is closed because of forest fire.
And on the way to Momijidani the traffic road is under the construction.
But you can walk there.
Please park the car at Sounkyo public parking, and walk there.

Mt.Kurodake autumn leaves information
From the northwest slope of Mt,Kurodake to Kumonotaira
Sorbus matsumurana (Makino) Koehne ‘s leaves fall down because of last typhoon.

Depends on place some leaves and grass is getting deep color.
But it is like final atmosphere.
On Kumonodaira leaves and grasses keep their beautiful color but some leaves fall down or change dark color.
Northwest slope of Mt.Kurodake Sorbus matsumurana (Makino) Koehne ‘s leaves keep deep red color.
Betula ermanii and Weigela maximowiczii (S.Moore) Rehder turn to yellow.

Today is really clear and warm , sun is very strong.
But in the early morning the temperature was -5.
The weather is insecure.
It may snow.
Please prepare your gear and make a best plan and climb mountains safely.

We have a high-definition videos,you can watch the short movie “Secret of Sounkyou Gorge” any time.
This short movie tell you about the story that columnar joints was formed by a eruption 3000 years ago.
But before that what was Sounkyo gorge like?
Kurodakesawa has the key to explore it.
