When taking a walk, we often meet “Sciurus vulgaris orientis”.
This kinds of squirrel don’t hibernate.
They are looking for nuts for very cold and a lot of snow winter.
Now is not breeding period.
But two squirrels eat together and chase each other.
It’s so heartwarming.

Shall we go out and watch squirrels before winter?

It snowed a lot again in Daisetsuzan area from yesterday to this morning.

Mt.Aibetsudake that is seen through the rifts in the clouds is covered with white snow.

Around Sounkyo temperature is under 0° in the early morning.
And in the afternoon it is over 0°c.
Now it is snowing.
It’s going to take a little longer to get to lingering snow

It had been snowing since yesterday, also in this morning it was snowing
But now snow stops.

When you drive Mikuni pass or drive in the morning and at night, please drive safety.
Snow on the road melted.
When you visit Sounkyo, please be careful.

Sounkyo gorge
Autumn leaves are still good, some of leaves are falling down or becoming brown color.

But weather forecast says it will rainy tomorrow.
Looks like it’s going to snow over the weekend.

Autumn leaves started at mountainous area end of August.
Now autumn leaves are almost the end in Sounkyo gorge.
