You will see the crack on the snow bridge.
Depending on the weather , snow bridge might fall down.
Prepare and check your gears and climb safely, please

Mt. Kurodake’s northeastern face

Mt.Kurodake trekking route
Day by day the snow continue melting.
Here and there the trecking route is showed up,
Still the trekking is all snow.
Follow the picture, around straight down the top,
there is still some risk of falling down.

Flower blooming news as fellow(please check HP “Mountain information)
Diapensia lapponica subsp. Obovata Rhododendron aureum Phyllodoce caerulea

Because of June’ low temperature , blooming is delayed a little.
(but from now the weather forecast says that it will continue hot days ,so day by day the flowers is goingto bloom!)

Mikasa Shindo

Mikasa-shindou and Takanegahara
Mikasa-sinndou heading from Kougen onsen numameguri course to Takanegahara is now open.
But if brown bear is seen , the course will be closed!

About Numameguri course, hikers walk on the snow from the first mararshsh “ Dohyo- numa”to the last marsh “Kara-numa”.
“Shikibu-numa” “Daigaku-numa “ “Kougen-numa” are still under the snow, we cannot see the water surface.
We found the track that rock was fallen. Please watch your steps .
Mikasa-shindou is all covered with snow.
Couse from halfway up to the top is steep ,the remaining snow is very hard, so we recommend hikers to bring crampons and pickle .
When you use them climbing down , you might fall down .
We recommend for only advanced hikers.

At Takanegahara the alpine flowers is blooming guradually.
Near the Mikasa-shindo junction blooming as follows
Lagotis yesoensis Gentiana triflora var. japonica f. montana Potentilla matsumurae


Under the Hakuun hut there is still snow , please pay attention not to miss the course mark.
Camping area’ snow is half melting .
Itagaki-shindou is still like snow field.
Tip of the snow wall we made the stairs on the snow, but when it is poor visibility, pay more attention not to fall down.
At Midori-dake the first and second garden is all snow.
The patrol person set the route sign.
Following the route signs , you won’t be lost.
If rain put the route signs down and when visibilty is poor , you might be lost.
We recommend to bring the compass and map and GPS
  • Climb safely by allowing plenty of time.

Snowy gorges on the Mt. Aka course

Mt. Akadake snow Report
Route Ginsendai opened ,hikers can climb “Akadake”direction.
Since this spring it has been cold ,so snow is melting later than average year .
I think there is a lot of remaining snow this year.
Walking from the forest administrative office,
There is remaining snow ,and snow cover the trekking road here and there.
“the first garden” “the second garden” “the third snow gorge”ow gorge
“the forth snow gorge” are all covered with snow.
The snow gorge’slope is not so hard to climb.
But if hikers are not used to walk on the snow,
Bring your crampons.
The mountain range is no snow, the blooming of alpine plant and flower is late.

Direction of the Akaishi River

About Mt,Kurodake trekking route
North-west slope in Mt.Kurodake around the summit the trekking road is appeared.
But all the trekking road is covered with snow.
From 9th station to the summit the snow is cut and broken to melt.
There is a possibility of danger to slide down.


And also around “ Kumono-daira “ is under the snow.
Keep your mind not to become lost when it is visibility is poor.

Look at the “Akaisi-river “ photo !
There is covered with deep snow.
But from the upper reach of the river snow is clacked.
The place crossing the river is under the snow.
Please prepare your gears and your plan, climb safely
