It has been cold.
We went to watch birds in good and beautiful weather.
We met many kinds of birds.

We met “Lesser spotted woodpecker” that is not seen in this area.
And we met “Aegithalos caudatus” that is most poplar.
His eyes are really cute.
Recently “Aegithalos caudatus” is really poplar, and their photo albums are sold in the shop.
“Aegithalos caudatus” is the most poplar of all wild birds.

Everday snow is falling, and wind is strong. How about going on birdwatching to enjoy winter season in sunny day.

We hold “nature observation meeting for winter”.
This year in Sounkyou it’s very warmer than usual year, snow falling is later than usual year.
But now Sounkyo onsen town is covered with snow.
It’s beautiful!
Next month “Hyoubaku festival” will be held.
This festival is very famous, and you will surprise ice and snow sculptures..

It has been cold.
In the early morning the temperature is minus degrees.
It’s freezing.
This year’s first snow was later than the average year.
(last year October 5th, this year October 29th)
After first snow it snows lightly, and isn’t covered with snow.

Today we saw beautiful hoarfrost in the Sounkyo gorge.
Now snow is melting, it is not enough to ski, make a snowman.
Last year we had amount 209cm snow!!
This year the amount of snow will less than normal year in November.

~To foreign people who want climbing to mountains~
We don’t recommend to go climbing in winter season.
Because it is very dangerous.
When it is storm, you will miss the trail and might be frozen to death.
