Momijidani valley walking course
In these days it has been beautiful and clear days.
Remaining snow is only one spot on this course.
Some place you might find “falling stone”, but this course is safe, anyone can walk.y

On the way to Momiji fall, you fill find spring flowers and wild birds singing.
How about going to fresh green Momijidani valley?

In Sounkyo it is chilly little bit.
But warm spring sunshine is really good.

Today we held “birds watching meeting”
Around this Visitor center we found a pair of “Luscinia cyane” and “Ficedula narcissina”.
“Cyanoptila cyanomelana” is coming here.

We plan next Visitor Center lecture is June 9th (Sun).

Since early morning it has been chilly in Sounkyo.
Intermittently it snows today.
In this morning it was -1°c, now is 9°c.

Next week the temperature will be rising, the weather forecast says.
The top of gorge is covered with snow.
As time goes by, we get more snow.
When you drive Mikuni pass, Sekihoku pass, Kitami pass, be careful to drive.
The road may be frozen.

In a few days in the early morning and at night it has been chilly.
Beginning next week the temperature is rising, the season of fresh green will come.

Each forest roads open date (but they will change, please check yourself)
6/10 Kougen onsen route 9:30~ open
6/15 Asahidake visitor center open
6/16 prefectural road Ginsenndai route open 11:00~
6/30 Mt.Kurodake trail open

(prefectural road of Aizankei onsen has not dicided to open yet)

In this season many kinds of wild birds are coming our town.
Yesterday we found a pair of “Uragus sibiricus”,” Saxicola torquata”,” Cyanoptila cyanomelana”.
Now trees have no leaves on the branch, so we can find wild birds easily.
It’s really good season for birds watching.

Today’s Sounkyo is beautiful and clear day from early morning.
The temperature is 16°c at 10.
It will be 20°c!
Yes! Spring has come!

Now rabbits is in molting season.
Depends on each rabbit there are still white rabbits.
Most of them change to summer fur.
Look at the picture that we took near “Daisetu mori no garden”
In the garden some flowers start blooming.
You may meet cute rabbits there.
And from the garden you can see beautiful Daisetuzan mountain range.
How about going to “Daisetsu mori no garden” and finding many wild birds?
