It is very windy but very clear and blue sky today in sounkyo.
Temperature is +4°c.
After today weather forecast says it will snow.
We hope it will get warm.
Please check the photo. That is “Dryocopus martius” (Black woodpecker)
He was really into finding food.
We always hear their voice, and can find them.
But sometimes “Garrulus glandarius” imitate wood pecker.

It is getting warm.
How about going to the woods for a change?

It is snowing since morning in Sounkyo.
We think the snow will have settled.
Since yesterday we got 10cm snow.
This snow will be slush by getting warm.
March 9th ~10th it rained, snow in th Sounkyo onsen moll is melting.
And also snow at 7th station of MtKurodake lose 50cm snow.

It snows and rains again and again, spring will come.

This rain wake large wildlife up.
When you walk in the woods with snowshoes, be careful.

Sleet is falling in Sounkyo.
Every snow and ice fell from the roof.
Temperature is 10°c.
It will rain.
Weather forecast says “Tommorow will rain, after that it will snow”
We are afraid of heavy snow.
Look at the picture.
“Sap icicles” fell because of warmness.
But many wild birds came to lick sap on the snow.
Getting warm and cold, it is hard to control your condition.

*Snow amount in 7th station of Mt,Kurodake has 350cm, it is more than last year’s.

Light snow is falling in Sounkyo now.
But weather is not so bad.
In the afternoon temperature is 0°c.
But it is still in the morning and at night.

Wild birds is getting very active.
Look at the picture.
They come to lick “sap icicles”
Sap is dropping to be Icicles because of coldness in the morning and at night.
This tree is Itaya maple, Maple syrup.
It is little bit sweet!
