In this early morning minimum temperature is 0°c.
Now it is 10°c, very cold in Sounkyo.
From this weekend the temperature will go up, weather forecast says.
“Rhododendron dauricum” will start blooming.
Soon we will see pink gorge.
Young leaves of “Cercidiphyllum japonicum” is getting red.
“Betula ermanii” and “Prunus ssiori” are turning red, yellow and green.
It’s like autumn leaves.

This is Phoenicurus auroreus that is visiting Sounkyo.
This bird is called “traveling bird” in Hokkaido.
We checked” Phoenicurus auroreus” in 2012, 2019.
And also we made sure breeding.
In Kamikawa town ” Phoenicurus auroreus” have been witnessed many times.
We hope we can see them!

Since early morning it has been sunny.
But now it is raining with strong wind.
It snows on the top of gorge.
The minimum temperature is 3°c.
Now is 19°c.
We feel little bit chilly because of strong wind.

That is Mt.Kurodake in early this morning.
There is much snow.
(They have 390cm snow, more 60cm snow than last year’s as of April 30th.
Sounkyo ropeway is temporarily closed now. We don’t know snow report in May.)

It was very calm in this early morning.
Now it is windy and raining.
Sometimes we can’t see gorge.
Look at a picture of “Nisaetus nipalensis”.(length about 80cm, The full length with wings 170cm smaller than “Haliaeetus pelagicus”and ” Haliaeetus albicilla”)
It is difficult to find them.
But today many crows ate a dead deer, “Nisaetus nipalensis” tried to get the dead deer.
But he gave up to get food because crows attacked him.

We met “Pteromys volans orii 〈Kuroda, 1921〉” that is appearing through a hole in wood.
For him it is not time to go out.
Maybe he was surprised with car’s vibration.
This place is closed to man’s house.
He lives very close to a man.
