Near Kurodake Ishimuro

After snow melts, “Geum pentapetalum ” ,“Phyllodoce caerulea” ,“Cassiope lycopodioides (Pall.) D.Don” ,“Diapensia lapponica L. var. obovata F.Schmidt” and “Potentilla matsumurae” bloomed.
But the area is decreasing.
“Arctous alpina var. japonica” starts to turn red.
Around 9th station of Mt.Kurodake “Sorbus matsumurana” lose its color.
For the past ten years this year’s leaves turn to red very fast.
Will we see autumn leaves earlier than usual year?
But it depends on climate.
We are worry about Typhoon.
But it depends on climate.
August has just started.
Last year we saw autumn leaves on August 14th.
Autumn leaves has not started year.
So this year is 10 days earlier than last year.

Near Pon Kurodake 

From the summit of Mt.Kurodake to Mt.Ponkurodake “Therorhodion camtschaticum” blooms now. But most of them are almost finished.
“Bryanthus gmelinii”, “Pennellianthus frutescens” is still beautiful.
Blue flowers like ” Campanula lasiocarpa” starts blooming.
“Dicentra peregrina” is beautiful, too.
Year by year they spread their community.

Mt. Kurodake’s northeastern face

Autumn flower stated to bloom.
“Solidago virgaurea subsp. leiocarpa” and summer flowers are blooming.
They spread to bloom and have many buds.
“Solidago virgaurea subsp. leiocarpa”, “Dactylorhiza aristata” ,” Geranium erianthum f. pallescens”, “Ranunculus acris var. nipponicus” , autumn flower like ” Campanula lasiocarpa” “Veronica stelleri var. longistyla” and kinds of “Cirsium” are blooming.
We are worry about typhoon.
We can see summer flower in Mt.Kurodake for a while.

Mt.Akadake hiking information
About snow on the trail in Akadake two thirds of trail at Daini hanabatake is covered with snow.
The bottom of Daiichi hanabatake has little snow.
But hikers don’t need crampons.
Around ridge of Mt.Akadake “Therorhodion camtschaticum” is over the peak.
Now we are waiting “Gentiana algida f. igarashii” blooming.
We often see blue flowers.
It looks latter half flower season starts.

Direction of the Akaishi River

After snow melts “Geum pentapetalum” ,” Phyllodoce caerulea” ,” Primula cuneifolia var. cuneifolia”,” Rhododendron aureum”,” Loiseleuria procumbens” and “Phyllodoce aleutica” start to bloom.
“Phyllodoce aleutica” has a lot of buds.
For a few days you will see them.
*Akaishi river’s flow is little fast and strong. Hikers can walk on rocks and cross the river.
*Snow just under the junction of Mt.Hokuchindake os gone.
*” Geum pentapetalum” in Kumono daira have fluffy. “Phyllodoce aleutica” is blooming beautifully.
