Mt. Kurodake’s northeastern face

End of April, it’s getting warmer and sunny these past few days.
Today is nice and sunny, too.
The temperature is 12°c, not so warm.

The weather forecast says that from tomorrow it will be getting warmer.
But the second half of golden week it will be colder.
Snow doesn’t melt at all because it has been cold for a few days.
On the 7th station of Mt.Kurodake the amount of snow is 410cm.
It is 20cm more than last year’s.
Mt.Kurodake ski area is open until May 6th.
And then they carry out construction work to change chair lifts for summer.
They start doing summer business from Jun 1st.
We took the first photo during getting on the chair lift and took second photo around 7th station of Mt.Kurodake.
As you can see, the mountain is still winter.
Many hikers contact us about climbing in spring.
We say same thing again and again.

*You must prepare full equipment.
*You must be careful at poor visual field, or you will be in lost.
*you must be careful not to fall down. (every year slipping accidents occur.)
(in last year’s case hikers can climb up but can’t climb down.)
*you must bring whistle and bell.
(Young bears waked up from hibernation. Mother bears and their baby bears will wake up soon.)

We are worry about many accidents on the mountains.
We want all hikers to know accidents and danger.
  • Take care to avoid slipping and falling.
