Mt. Kurodake’s northeastern face

Mt.Kurodake  snow and flower report
Mt.Kurodake at the 7th station had about 400cm snow the beginning of May.
That is much snow than same day last year. (Last year had 330cm snow.)

In the middle of June it was extremely hot.
The temperature was over 30°c level on flat ground.
This temperature effected mountain district, snow is melting quickly.
(Now snow on the trail is almost same as usual year.)

From the trail head to 8th station snow remained intermittently.
There is 2m snow below the summit.
When going down, watch your step.
The road is very slippery.
Around 9th station flowers are blooming.
You will see many kinds of flower and a lot of numbers of flower.
Especially “Weigela middendorffiana” started blooming.
In a few days it will full bloom.
As shown in the picture, around Kumono taira “Rhododendron aureum” is the best time to see.
“Geum pentapetalum” blooms in community.
*Akaishi river Snow bridge fell down, you walk in the river and you can walk on the stones.
*Snow below the junction of Mt.Hokuchindake The trail is very steep and slippery.
